Team Lead Software Engineer
I am Franco Oropeza and I am a Team Lead Software Engineer with over 6 years of experience. I posess an infinite appetite for learning and the desire to constantly pursue a challenge in the software development world.
The Software world is a combination of learning new technologies and maintaining old ones. I am always looking to sharpen my skills and acquire new ones. Whether these are work-related skills or self-learning I am constantly on the lookout for new stuff to learn.
While following my journey as a Full-Stack Developer, I have been exposed to technologies in order to support my skills in real life projects. The end goal is to someday move some of these (and many more) to the section above.
Imagine painting a masterpiece without a brush. Sure, it could be done, but you probably won't end up with The Mona Lisa. I use the following tools while working on several projects. These tools keep me organized, help me manage version control and make life a whole lot easier.
The best way to solidify what you know in the coding world is by, well...coding. I am passionate about every project I've completed and the following are among my favorites!

Jr. Developer
Mad Scientist
I am a self driven individual eager to perfect my craft. Persistency and hardwork are my biggest traits. If you have any questions regarding this profile, don't hesitate to contact me!

This SaaS application was originally a project we took over for maintenance. The original application was built by a different team with ASPNET, Angular and Entity Framework. Upon a few months of maintance, it was determined that the original platform had some serious limitations. We rebuilt the entire platform using Flask, JavaScript and HTML/CSS. We used SQLAlchemy to handle the data and Jinja/Bootstrap to handle the UI. Data migration scripts were key to transform the data in a sustainable way.

This app looks to continue the top-notch customer service that Good Greek has placed in the center of their business model.
The app is built with React Native and is currently live and available for both Android and iOS devices. The back-end is created using Flask and SQLAlchemy while exposing API endpoints that depend on Bearer Token for Authentication. We have built implementations with a few external APIs (such as SmartMoving) to increase the accuracy of the data. Finally, we have implemented an AWS Lambda function that runs twice a day and triggers a call to one of our API endpoints to intake data from a specific JSON file that is freshly placed in an AWS bucket twice a day.
